Non-degree Applicable Courses
Applicability of credit toward a degree refers to the prerogative of academic divisions to count specific credit toward the fulfillment of a student’s degree requirements. The student’s college or school of enrollment is responsible for determining applicability.
However, transfer courses in the following categories are not applicable to any USC academic program or degree and do not appear on the student record:
- Coursework with a transfer grade below C-
- Technical Coursework
- Remedial Coursework
Change to Transfer GPA
The University of South Carolina calculates a student’s GPA based solely on grade points from institutional work completed at any USC campus. The LIFE Scholarship GPA, however, is calculated for all USC students to include all grade points from both transfer and institutional work regardless if it is accepted by USC, and is displayed to students and advisors in Self Service Carolina.
