Bio: 

I am a doctoral candidate fascinated by the histories of twentieth-century United States popular culture, capitalism and consumerism. My dissertation, “Blank Generations: Punk and Hardcore Countercultures in New York City, 1970–1997,” examines the evolution of punk rock culture in New York City from an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing from cultural studies, ethnomusicology and sociology.

For this research, I have been awarded a Russell J. and Dorothy S. Bilinski Dissertation Fellowship for the 2026–2027 academic year.

I write for a variety of publications with the goal of making history engaging and accessible for diverse audiences. My public-facing work on cultural history, popular music and the practice of history has appeared in:
