Thomas E. Hodges, Ph.D.

Thomas Hodges serves as Dean of the College of Education at the University of South Carolina, where he leads the state’s flagship education college through strategic initiatives focused on innovation and community impact. His research centers on the development of elementary mathematics teachers, with particular attention to the systems and structures that support teacher learning and professional identity.

Hodges is currently serving as interim dean of the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences while they engage in a national search for a permanent dean.

Interim Dean

Angela Baum will serve as interim dean of the College of Education while Hodges assumes his temporary role.
